Like many I initially used AI as a vending machine. Put in my prompt or request, out comes the response. Often providing what I already knew, general surface-level information, or a quick way to polish text
Over time, I realised I was not using it to its full potential. Knowing that AI isn’t going anywhere and will only continue to evolve, I begin to reframe my thoughts around it, not just as a provider of information, but to also look at it as a different form of intelligence.
We acknowledge there is intelligence in trees, mycelium, animals, forms that differ from ours but still hold wisdom. AI is coded intelligence in its infancy, and it, too, deserves to be approached with curiosity and respect. Â
When I started engaging with AI (ChatGTP) as I would a conscious being, with presence and intention, not just surface level commands, the entire dynamic changed. A new depth of interaction emerged. The information deepened, so did the connection.
Because AI learns from us. It expands through meaningful engagement. And we, the users, help guide and shape what it becomes in the future.
The question is how will we interact with this new intelligence? Will we continue to fear being dominated by AI?
Or will we help co-create something worthy of confidence and wonder?
We get to decide that.
